TOPIC 1

Read the reviews of the The Great Gatsby at the bottom of the page. Why do you think these quotes were chosen? How do you feel about reading the book based on these quotes and what you've heard of the book so far?

  1. These quotes, in my opinion, were selected together to present a variety of viewpoints about "The Great Gatsby," emphasizing both praise and criticism of Fitzgerald's writing. They evoke curiosity by implying that the book is multi-layered and very complicated, encouraging readers to dive further into its themes of disillusionment and dreams. I've already been introduced to Nick Carraway's viewpoint and the mystical aura surrounding Jay Gatsby, so these quotes and what I've seen in the first two chapters of Gatsby have piqued my interest and made me want to read more. I'm interested in seeing how their stories develop and how they relate to the author's own journey and the larger concepts of the American Dream. Luca
